These boots were made for walking

So lets start with the greatest achievement of all:  university. I finished my finals and got accepted to study History of Art at Universidade Nova, achieving the first stage of  my 4 year goal. I am feeling proud but as if this wasn´t enough a week after my results day I got from my parents the greatest birthday present I had ever received: a one week course of History of Fashion and Costume in London College of Fashion.

As soon as I set foot in the lecture hall and saw Amber Butchart (you can check her videos here) with her red bob covered in a colourful turban that matched her vintage shirt I  knew that my expectations about the course would probably be exceeded: I was right. In a week we got to visit the Victoria and Albert Museum, covered the history of fashion from the 18th century until the present day and got to do a presentation which gave me the chance to use the incredible library of LCF.
I do highly recommend short courses to everyone. Short courses are a great way to expand your knowledge and can give you motivation if you are thinking about a career change and want to know more about the industry you are interested in. On the other side if you are still at university, this could be a great way to learn another subject and get inspired about what you want to do in the future.
Being in London was great, I got to see various exhibitions: Marina Abramovitc's 24 hours at the Serpentine Gallery, The Glamour of Italian Fashion at the V&A, Rude Boy at Somerset House, Dennis Hopper at The Royal Academy of Arts and Pangaea at Saatchi Gallery.
In case you are wondering how I coped with so much culture and study after a week of stressful finals and applications to universities , don't feel for me.... Between museum trips, classes and lunches with my best friends I scheduled time to  fall in love with cute "Chuck-Bass-a-like" boys that went up and down Old Bond street looking flawless in their bespoke tailor made Savile Row suits.
