While I was still living in London, I was lucky enough to find in a charity shop, Vogue's Body and Beauty Book. Since then I have included many of its secrets on my daily beauty routine that I wish to share with you. Here's the book's take on Basic Skin Care:
Body Skin usually can be taken care of by retaining moisture through a body lotion or using oil in the bath if the skin is dry. Facial skin is more vulnerable but consistent care can give lasting results. It need not take more than three minutes morning and evening but it's vital. The key is activity: you must keep the renewal rate of skin cells as high as possible. The Only Way to do this is by regularly keeping the skin clean, moist and thinned of its dead-cell build-up. It's easy to get into the habit, and once attained it is hard to break. The preparations only influence the epidermis, but that's enough. The steps to good skin are: cleansing, freshening, moisturising, conditioning, exfoliating and stimulating. The first four are daily procedures, the other two are weekly, unless you have a special problem.
